The Island Pond Area Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday, October
15, 2008 at 4PM at the Grand Trunk Tavern in Island Pond. Sixteen members were present. The first order of business was to nominate
and elect a new slate of officers.
Elected were: Don McMurray
(President), Stephanie Nagle (Vice President), Yolanda Knight (Secretary),
Annette Dalley (Assist. Secretary), and Patricia Whitney
(Treasurer).
The following committees were then
formed:

and Activities headed by Katherine Maxwell
4.
Product Advertising and Cooperative
Advertising headed by Don McMurray
All of these committees can use more members. Contact Don McMurray (mental-edge@comcast.net) or one of the
committee heads to indicate your interest in serving on a committee.
Events, packaging of
vacations, and cooperative advertising were topics of discussion as these will
draw travelers to the area and keep them in the area longer. Events for which planning will begin are a
Christmas Show in December and a Winter Carnival in February. The success of our efforts depends upon the
support of all Island Pond Area businesses and citizens. You need not be a business owner to support
the work of the Chamber.
