Island Pond Winter Carnival Weekend: Intro to
Ice Fishing
In partnership with the Island Pond Chamber and the Conte Refuge,
Nulhegan Basin Division, NorthWoods will host an introduction to ice
fishing on Island Pond, Saturday, February 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Learn basic ice fishing skills as well as winter fish biology. $10
adults, 12 & under free. Bait, tackle, equipment, and hot coffee

Island Pond Winter Carnival Weekend: Bluff Mountain
Snowshoe
Enjoy this naturalist-led snowshoe hike up Bluff Mountain in Island
Pond on Saturday, February 20 at 9 a.m. and discuss animal sign and
ecology along the way. Climb to scenic overlook, weather permitting.
Bring food, water, and layers. $10. Bring snowshoes or rent for an

6th Annual Kingdom Classic Wild and Woolly Ski and
Snowshoe Race
Grab your old touring skis, pull out your woolly knickers, and
dust off
your wooden snowshoes for a day of fun races, guided tours, food
and
prizes on Saturday, February 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Old-time classical
and tandem skiing and snowshoe races take place at 11pm and 1pm
respectively. Tasting for our 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off begins at 12
noon and concludes with a prize for the best chili! $5. Free ski and
