Ski Touring the Kingdom Series: Bald Mountain
Challenge your ski legs with a 1,415-foot, three-mile ascent of Bald
Mountain on Saturday, February 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Climb to summit
is difficult (and optional); moderate below. Skins are necessary for
this tour.  Bring lunch, snacks, water and layers. $10. Meet at

American Marten Distribution & Management in Northern New England
NH Dept of Fish and Game Biologist, Jillian Kilborn will present the
results of recent research on this state-threatened weasel species,
including its past and present distribution, factors affecting this
range and management implications on Thursday, February 11 at 6 p.m.

The Art of Felting Mittens
During this workshop on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m., learn the
felting process as you create your own pair of wool mittens, felted to
the shape of your hands. All materials provided. $30. Meet at

Island Pond Winter Carnival Weekend: Intro to Ice Fishing
In partnership with the Island Pond Chamber and the Conte Refuge,
Nulhegan Basin Division, NorthWoods will host an introduction to ice
fishing on Island Pond, Saturday, February 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Learn basic ice fishing skills as well as winter fish biology. $10
adults, 12 & under free. Bait, tackle, equipment, and hot coffee
provided. Meet in front of the Brighton Town Hall. Contact 802-723-6551

Island Pond Winter Carnival Weekend: Bluff Mountain Snowshoe
Enjoy this naturalist-led snowshoe hike up Bluff Mountain in Island
Pond on Saturday, February 20 at 9 a.m. and discuss animal sign and
ecology along the way. Climb to scenic overlook, weather permitting.
Bring food, water, and layers. $10. Bring snowshoes or rent for an
additional $5. Meet in front of Brighton Town Hall. Contact NorthWoods

Winter Day Camp
Winter adventure awaits your kids at NorthWoods during the February
23-26 break. Winter tracking, skiing, snowshoeing, fort-building, arts
and crafts, and more! Optional overnight on Thursday. Ages 6-12. $125.
Sibling discounts and scholarships available. Space is limited, reserve

6th Annual Kingdom Classic Wild and Woolly Ski and Snowshoe Race
Grab your old touring skis, pull out your woolly knickers, and dust off
your wooden snowshoes for a day of fun races, guided tours, food and
prizes on Saturday, February 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Old-time classical
and tandem skiing and snowshoe races take place at 11pm and 1pm
respectively. Tasting for our 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off begins at 12
noon and concludes with a prize for the best chili! $5. Free ski and
